About Hertford Model Aero Club

The club was founded in 1978 by three aeromodellers looking for a flying site in Hertford. Since then it has gradually built up into a healthy club of approximately eighty members.
The first gathering of the new club was held at the Simon Balle school in Hertford and this very quickly became the established meeting place for the monthly meetings until several years ago when we moved our meeting place and now hold them in Ware usually on the second Thursday of the month.

The Committee that governs the club is made up of thirteen people and they are elected at the AGM held in November from the club membership.
Titled posts are; Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary.
We have the use of two flying sites and these are flown all year round. We are also trying to establish regular indoor flying meetings at a local sports hall.

Our main discipline is radio controlled fixed wing aircraft powered by a variety of engine types and covering the usual classes of scale and sport.
The club is a member of the BMFA (British Model Flying Association).
